Retirement & Pension Planning

Retirement & Pension Planning

For some people, retirement can last almost as long as their working lives, having enormous financial implications.

Making a plan for a long and prosperous retirement is very likely to involve investments in pensions (some of the recent legislation in this area making these much more attractive and tax efficient). But there is, of course, much more to retirement planning than pensions and your strategy should encompass all aspects of what is, for most people, the biggest change in their financial circumstances during their adult lives.

The range of such strategies has never been wider and knowing which opportunities to take advantage of, and when, is crucial. A combination of tax benefits and investment options can be selected, with the aim of ensuring that you achieve your retirement goals. The flexibility and control provided by our approach to investment, can yield a distinct advantage, whichever strategy is chosen.

Pensions & Divorce

Unfortunately we are seeing an increasing number of marriages ending in divorce. In many cases one or both partners has significant pension assets that make up a large percentage of the matrimonial assets.

Pension rights can be one of the most complex aspects of a divorce or dissolution settlement. It is imperative that advice is obtained from the various professionals to ensure all angles are covered, including the services of a solicitor and financial adviser.

We have extensive experience in dealing with such matters and in liaising with fellow professionals and their clients.
